Christmas In Islam
The majority of Muslims require someone who clarifies this issue for them because they are insufficiently knowledgeable about it in Islam. This essay is specifically directed for you if you fall into that category.
I will give you a quick history of Christmas and its origins here. This essay will also discuss Christmas from an Islamic perspective, what the Quran says about it, and why Muslims shouldn’t celebrate or even wish others a Merry Christmas. Go through the explanation in full below to learn the solutions to all of these questions.
Is Christmas Celebration Haram In Islam?
Yes, Christmas is prohibited in Haram for the various reasons listed below, including its pagan roots, the Islamic conviction that it is the birth of God’s son, and the fact that the true Islamic celebration of Jesus’ birth is based on adhering to his teachings. Below, we’ll talk about these topics.
What is the exact meaning of “Christmas”?
We need to figure out the meaning of this word. The word Christmas actually combines two words: “mass,” which symbolizes birth, and “Christ,” which is the name given to our prophet Jesus (Jesus), may Allah exalt his mention. This name derives from the Middle English word “Cristesmesse,” which literally means “Christ’s mass,” and refers to the purported birthdate of Jesus.
Christmas celebration Date?
While the majority of Christians celebrate Christmas on December 25th, neither their Bible nor our Quran make reference to this day. As said by Allah in His Word through the language of Jesus:
“And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive“
(Quran 19:33).
Because this is what Allah says regarding Essa’s birth, no one is certain of the precise date of our prophet Jesus’s birth, peace be upon him. According to certain Ulamah, Jesus, peace be upon him, may not have been born in the winter as Christians claimed, but rather in August or September. The Quran provides evidence for this claim.
“And shake towards yourself the trunk of the palm tree; it will cause fresh ripe dates to fall upon you”
This scripture provides unmistakable proof that our prophet Jesus was born during the dating season rather than the winter. Additionally, the “New Testament” Bible provided proof that Jesus was born in the fall. It states that during the time of Jesus’ birth, date palms were the seasonal fruit and shepherds slept outside in the open to tend to their sheep.
Furthermore, there is unmistakable proof among Christians themselves, since some celebrate on December 25th, others concur that it is January 6th, and yet others make announcements on January 7th. Why may a single person have three or four distinct birth dates?
So who established that December 25th is the day that Jesus was born, and why are they particularly celebrating that day?
Why Muslims must not celebrate Christmas:
We do not celebrate Christmas for a number of reasons, of course, but before we go over them, let us examine what Allah says about it and what our Muslim sheiks have to say about it.
1. Christmas is not celebrated in Islam because we consider Jesus to be nothing more than a prophet.
The names of Jesus may Allah glorify him and Alsyda Maryam bent Imran are actually mentioned 25 and 43 times, respectively, in the Holy Quran. Accordingly, as Muslims, we have greater knowledge of the prophet Jesus and his mother, and we accept him as a prophet and the messenger of Allah, much like our beloved prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him.as Allah says :
“We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers”. “Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the scripture and made me a prophet “this is what Jesus said and it is mentioned in Quran.
2. Muslim celebration is by following the teachings:
For the first, we consider celebrating a prophet’s birth to be an act of living out his or her teachings. And Allah will not be happy with us if we fail to follow by the instructions. Thus, we don’t observe any other prophet’s birthdays.
Instead of using their birthdays as an excuse for celebration and sin, we need to follow the advice of our prophets and contemplate.
Furthermore, we must remember that Christians believe Jesus to be the son of God—a god inside the trinity.
3. In Islam, celebrating Christmas is viewed as a “Shirk.”
Because Christians celebrate the birth of their god on Earth, “Mushrik” will join them in celebrating since he will have the same idea. The following is proof that the prophet’s companion, Abdullaah Ibn ‘Amr, peace be upon him:
“Whoever lives in the land of the non-Muslims and celebrates their new year and festivals, and imitates them until he dies in this state, will be gathered with them on the day of resurrection”.
This hadith actually suggests that any Muslim who participates with them in those affairs is a mushrik in their exact image. And one of the “Kabaar” the primary sins that doom a person to Hell—is shirk. You can now be assured that celebration is forbidden in Islam.
The difference between the Islamic New Year and Christmas.
To sum up, a lot of people are unsure about whether Christmas and New Year’s are the same thing or if New Year’s is a separate holiday from Christmas. To be clear, New Year’s is a completely different holiday with its own history and purpose.
